Our last blog talked about how to make a difference in someone’s life by “making their day”. It gave you a few ideas for team members, as well as people in your personal life.
Today’s blog addresses how to do it with people you serve outside the organization. There are plenty of actions you can do to work toward developing a customer for life. Come up with some specific and customized actions that will appeal to them.
Just to give you a head start, we have provided a space for you to list who would be a good customer, client, donor, patient, or prospect you might do it for and when you will do it. After all, if you put who you will do it for, it is an IDEA. If you add when you will do it, you have an ACTION STEP!
MAKE A CUSTOMER’S DAY
Stop by to pick up your customer’s favorite drink on the way to seeing them.

Start your interaction with a new program about your organization and do it away from their place of work (like a coffee shop). It will help them relax and get to know you.

Take or e-mail them an article that is pertinent to the person’s organization, preferably something they may not be aware of, but should be.

Provide a firm’s business card and a person’s name that will help them solve a problem(especially if it is totally unrelated to your organization and what it does.
