QUESTIONS TO ANSWER
BEFORE YOU START TODAY’S BLOG…
- Is that the way you feel about your job—“I can’t wait to get to work”?
- Do you feel as excited as if you were going out on stage to perform in a Broadway play?
- Do you find it hard to go home because you still have time to develop some great results?
- Do you get excited every time you talk to people about what you do?

Congratulations if you answered “yes” to much of this. You are in the right job. You are in the right field. You are a peak performer and YOU can be the one to make a real difference. In my book PerfectTIMING I talk about the fact that you need to know when to “refresh”, whether it’s a break, a nice lunch outside the building, or a cruise (now you know what I like to do for a vacation).
After you unplug, do you still feel excited about what you’re going to accomplish when you return from your trip? If so, you are on a roll. Keep it up.
What if you don’t feel this way, though? What if work is becoming a chore. What if you find yourself spending more and more time thinking about what’s wrong than what’s right?
Perhaps it’s time for you to consider what other career might be better for you. After all, there are many jobs, but there is only one YOU. Live your life so that on the last day you can smile that you made a real difference in the world. You have the potential to do it. Just make sure you are in the right field to do it.
